The Pottery Lot

The Pottery Lot in Vilas, North Carolina is a community pottery studio and retail gallery located at 5014 NC Highway 105 South in the heart of the High Country near Boone. Opened on Labor Day weekend in 2024 by Emily and Michael Roberts, this ceramics studio is dedicated to bringing people together through a shared love of clay. The Pottery Lot offers year-round space for potters of all levels to create, learn and connect through various pottery classes and workshops. Classes include beginner wheel throwing, hand-built projects like custom mugs, pots, vases, ceramic fairy houses, gnomes, heart bowls, and seasonal offerings like handmade valentines mugs. The studio provides private studio space and a small venue to host parties and private events. In addition to workshops and classes, The Pottery Lot features a curated retail gallery showcasing the work of local potters and artisans. This pottery studio serves as a creative hub for the Boone area community, offering opportunities for both learning and artistic expression in ceramics.
